Abstrak

The leadership of the apostles in the early church was a crucial factor in sustaining the growth of the congregation amid various challenges. The Acts of the Apostles highlights their role as spiritual leaders who guided the community through prayer, teaching, service, and exemplary faith (Acts 6:4). This study employs a qualitative-theological approach with library research, drawing upon the Acts of the Apostles, the Gospels, and scholarly literature. The analysis is carried out in three stages: contextual, textual, and thematic, in order to explore the historical, theological, and missiological dimensions of apostolic leadership. Findings indicate that Christian leadership is rooted in a living relationship with Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and expressed through teaching, ministry, and witness. Acts records both qualitative and quantitative church growth through prayer, fellowship, testimony, and mission. Furthermore, the fivefold tasks of the church, loving God, loving others, proclaiming the Gospel, baptizing, and teaching, serve as the foundation that reflects the transformative nature of apostolic leadership. Thus, biblical-based Christian leadership remains relevant for the church across ages.
